Then, the owner of the door and of the paint, upon further reflection, felt that he wanted the whole door...dark green. No tan...what-so-ever.
All of a sudden, my hard work was---undone. And I was the very one to undo it! I painted over that perfect tan with the dark green. I didn't have to be careful at all if any of it got on the trim. It was a breeze.
Doing work that later is all undone HAS to be one of my biggest pet peeves. ALL that TIME, ENERGY, TALENT...for nothing.
Thankfully, when these things happen, it is a QUICK and EFFECTIVE reminder to me of how I DON'T want to spend my life here on earth doing things that will instantly unravel and be undone when I get to heaven.
O, Lord, let me focus my time, energy and talents on things that will last for all of eternity.
