To cut to the chase for all the non-wordy, non-detailed people…I am moving to the Dominican Republic in July. I’ll be there for 6 months, working with YWAM, good friends, doing ministry, living and learning.
For those of you that would LIKE a bit more of the story…read on. :)
Moving back home to America after my stint in Peru brought more changes than I anticipated. One was the PROCESS of realizing, once again, that I am NOT done with missions. I love it. I miss it. And I wanted to GO BACK! The opportunity to go to the D.R. was presented to me in October. Back then, it seemed like a small chance, but I stacked it away in my head, just in case. The other change that happened was meeting Joe. :)) Joe came into my life on Thanksgiving day, and hasn’t gotten out since! When we started dating, there was talk of going on the mission field together, but the timing of it all was uncertain. Over the past two months, God has been very clear to us, through prayer, trust and surrender, that He’s blessing both Joe and me to go to the D.R. together in July.
LAST July I said to my spiritual director that I was ready for risk and adventure. THIS July will be the continuation of both of these things---with Joe, and most certainly, with God!
