The Question: I'm afraid God is going to ask me to be a missionary in another country. I really don't want to do that. What happens if I hold back part of my life from God?
WHY, you may ask, did that question stick out to you? BECAUSE I FELT THE SAME WAY! I don't remember too many of the prayers that I prayed as a child, but "Dear God, please don't make me be a missionary" was one of the ones I DO remember praying!
But, something in me began to change, perhaps even from the answer that was written under that question.
The Answer: God wants your whole life, so he can make something extraordinary out of it. Jesus told His followers, "The thief's purpose is to steal, kill and destroy. My purpose is to give life in all its fullness." (John 10:10) The Christian life was never meant to be done halfway. You're either sold out to God or to the world. For God to give you "life in all its fullness", you must give your life in full to God.
I'm so glad God "made me" be a missionary, and didn't answer my prayer the way my younger self wanted Him to!
